Dubai Financial Market Brokerages Add 64,416 Investor Accounts in Nine Months
DFM brokerage firms executed more than 6.33 million transactions involving 95.62 billion shares during the first nine months of 2026, with reported trading value exceeding AED 324.99 billion.

Brokerage firms operating on the Dubai Financial Market added approximately 64,416 new investor accounts during the first nine months of 2026, providing another indicator of expanding participation in Dubai’s equity market.
Figures reported by Emirates 24|7 on October 2 show brokerage firms executed more than 6.33 million transactions involving 95.62 billion shares during the January-to-September period. Total trading value exceeded AED 324.99 billion.
Account creation varied substantially by month. Brokerages added 6,339 accounts in January, 5,644 in February and 12,837 in March. Another 7,356 accounts were added in April, followed by 5,210 in May, 6,874 in June and 11,366 in July. August contributed 3,492 accounts and September another 5,298.
BHM Capital Financial Services recorded the largest number of new accounts during the nine-month period, with 20,752. Emirates NBD Securities followed with 12,637, while Al Ramz Capital recorded 9,147 and Abu Dhabi Islamic Securities added 7,979. Mashreq Securities recorded 4,532 new accounts.
Brokerage trading data also highlight the scale of competition for execution activity. EFG Hermes UAE accounted for approximately AED 77.22 billion of trading value, representing 23.76% of the reported total.
Arqaam Securities followed with approximately AED 38.95 billion, or 11.98%, while Emirates NBD Securities accounted for about AED 36.84 billion, equivalent to 11.33%. BHM Capital Financial Services represented approximately AED 32.83 billion, or 10.1%, with additional activity attributed to its market-making operation.
September alone generated AED 32.07 billion in reported trading value across 14.64 billion shares and 689,160 transactions, alongside the month’s 5,298 new accounts.
The figures matter because investor-account growth can broaden the pool of potential participants in the market. However, account openings should not automatically be interpreted as equivalent to active investors or additional capital deployed; trading activity and investor retention provide separate measures of market engagement.
Dubai has been developing its capital markets through listings, market infrastructure, digital investor access and initiatives designed to increase domestic and international participation. Competition among brokerage firms is an important part of that ecosystem, particularly as more investors use digital channels to access listed securities.
The data also demonstrate the range of institutions competing for brokerage business, from bank-owned securities platforms to specialist regional brokerage houses.
For the final quarter of 2026, market participants will be watching whether the pace of new-account creation continues and whether growth is accompanied by sustained turnover, liquidity and participation across new and established DFM listings.
Why It Matters
The combination of investor-account growth and more than AED 324.99 billion in reported brokerage trading value provides a measurable snapshot of participation and competitive activity in Dubai's capital market.
